Description
A field of soft green in front, still water behind it and a wide pale sky over both. Isaiah 40:8 is written low in the work, close to the green: the grass withers, but the word of God stands for ever.
The verse
The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall stand for ever.
Isaiah 40:8
Isaiah 40 opens with "Comfort ye my people" and then compares people to grass, here today and gone with the season. Against that, one thing does not fade: the word of God stands for ever. A verse about what remains.
